"End Of Year Hit Out"

The Realty Blue Swim Run GC ‘End of Year Hit-Out’ event is new fun community fitness event involving pool swimming (with obstacles) and running (cross country) in and around Pizzey Park precinct. In its 2nd year, this event is shaping as being one of the premier community fitness events on the coast and a great way to prepare for the iconic Slater + Gordon Burleigh Swim Run Australia Day Challenge January 27th (Public Holiday).

The event is open to elite athletes, local surf lifesavers, triathletes, swimmers, runners as well as interstate/international visitors along with the average individual looking for a challenge and new way to stay healthy.  Being set in and around the picturesque Pizzey Park precinct, the atmosphere will be amazing as it captures the essence of fun, fitness, family, healthy competition and achievements.

The event is open to everybody from kids as young as 8 years to adults 60yrs+. Whether you are a first timer wanting a fun fitness event, an aspiring athlete, an average Joe or wanting to do it in a team of two, the Swim Run GC is for you.

The event involves:

The Challenge 400m Pool Swim (rectangular course with obstacle) and 3km Cross Country run through Pizzey Park precinct. Event can be performed as an individual or in a team of two where one will swim and one will run (same or mixed gender).

The Taste-tester – 150m Pool Swim (rectangular course with obstacle) and 800m Cross Country run through Pizzey Park precinct.

The event is run and coordinated by Matt Isbister from City Aquatic and Ty Dowker Burleigh Swim Run

EVENT: Last Sunday of the Year – Sunday 29th December 2019

TIME: 6am – 9.30am (meet at Miami Pizzey Park Pool 6am – 6.30am sign in – 6.50am first wave)

OPEN TO: All ages, genders, locals, inter-state and internationals – limited to 300 competitors’ year 2.

WHAT TO BRING: swimmers/togs, goggles, running shoes, hat (optional), towel, sunscreen, water bottle & energy
